EPSILON EPSILON CHAPTER RECEIVES AWARDS AT CONVENTION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oxford, Ohio, September 17, 2007

Beta Theta Pi's Epsilon Epsilon chapter at the University of Georgia won its second John Reily Knox Chapter Excellence Award and its 15th Francis H. Sisson Award in August at the Fraternity's 168th General Convention in Orlando, Florida.

The Georgia chapter was one of 10 chapters to earn the John Reily Knox Chapter Excellence Award out of 120 chapters and colonies throughout the United States and Canada. Named after the Fraternity's founder, the Knox Award is the highest award a chapter can achieve. The award is based on meeting 19 Sisson award criteria, including philanthropy, alumni affairs and public relations, plus 14 additional requirements in leadership, scholarship and community service.

Georgia's accomplishments include averaging 31.4 hours of community service per member, holding its 20th annual Choral Cup, an a cappella singing competition among sororities which raised more than $4,000 for the American Cancer Society and maintaining a 3.24 GPA.

Beta Theta Pi is dedicated to building men of principle for a principled life. Our brotherhood aids the individual, builds the Fraternity and strengthens the host academic institution through lifelong devotion to intellectual excellence, high standards of moral conduct and responsible citizenship. The Fraternity, founded in 1839 at Miami University (Ohio), has more than 120,000 members including some 5,800 collegians on 122 campuses in the United States and Canada.
