The Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry is dedicated to advancing the quality of esthetic and inter-disciplinary patient-centered dentistry through affordable world class education, hands on training, and mentoring to help our members build a more diverse and rich base of knowledge and expertise in order to grow their practice
The Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry was “reborn” in August, 2006. After a two to three year hiatus from the original Atlanta Cosmetic Dental Study Club, several interested members met in Sandy Springs, GA to rekindle a dream of being a resource and promoter for excellence in cosmetic dentistry in the entire state of Georgia. A board was created and officers were elected to begin recertification with AACD and AGD. Just a few months later, in February, 2007, over 100 people attended our first educational meeting at the Cherokee Country Club. Our first speaker was world renowned dentist Dr. Dennis Wells to speak on “Minimal Preparation Veneers” and he was followed by Dr. Brad Durham.
Since that time, the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has educated its membership with education on CAD/CAM dentistry, implants, practice management, dental photography, and smile design. Along with establishing a reputation for bringing in world-renowned speakers to Georgia, our chapter was a key player in the AACD’s first ever Regional Meeting in Knoxville, TN. Furthermore, we have created a new standard of mentorship for AACD Accreditation with our local study group.
